Strengthen Your Core With Gymnamstics Training

Preparing for the 2016 games with Duke Van Vleet

Gymnastics Training for elite athletes preparing for the 2016 Games

You hear it all the time, you need to strengthen your core. A strong core will help you reach new levels both in sport and fitness. Your core will help you stay tight and in control, allowing more freedom to improve more difficult skills, not just for gymnasts, but for all sports.

Your abs and your lower back muscles are the most important muscles for any athlete. Without these muscles, we wouldn’t be able to hold ourselves upright. For gymnasts, and many other athletes, strong abdominal muscles are key to furthering your skills. You can have the strongest arms in the world, but if you go to lift some weights, your weak core may cause you to fail and fall, probably injuring yourself in the process.

You’ll never master the elusive muscle up if you have a weak core.

Even if gymnastics isn’t your goal, gymnastics training is the perfect supplement for any athlete. If your body is a temple, then you need a strong foundation for that temple not to crumble and fall. Your core is a vital part of your foundation.

“We have a very unique approach to  teaching the traditional shapes and positions required for training in this sport or any other sport.  We physically shape our athletes’ bodies in the hollow, arch, body wave and many other positions that create dynamic, efficient movement. Then, once our athletes have a strong base of general movement and proper shapes, we utilize drills that reinforce the correct movement patterns advancing to dynamic skills utilizing the new level of tension we have created. Our athletes benefit from tapping into free energy that will produce increased repetitions at lower level of fatigue.” – i99Fit

In our classes, we help you improve core strength, functional and dynamic movements. Our techniques are progressive and designed to help you adapt quickly, which in turn will allow you to bring those skills to your sport.

From handstands to muscle-ups, we focus on seven gymnastics movements that will help any athlete get to new levels. All of our classes are completely scaleable to suit beginners to elite athletes. This is hard-core training for all athletes or anyone who wants to become a lean, mean, gymnastics machine.

And, if you’ve never tried gymnastics training before, why not give it a go. You never know if this is what you’ve been looking for your whole life, and if nothing else, you’ll help invigorate your fitness routine by trying something new for a change.
